03 — The method
The tape mindset
Most producers write, then record, then mix, and lose the energy of the idea somewhere in the middle. I work the way records were made on tape. Writing and recording happen at the same time, sounds get committed instead of left open, and the take with the feel beats the take that is technically correct. It's faster, and it sounds like a person made it.

Who is 1:1 mentorship for?
Producers making music at home who want it to sound like a record, and who are tired of starting tracks they never finish. Mostly indie, neo-soul, indie rock, R&B and boom bap, but the process works for anything played and recorded.
Is this a course?
No. There are no pre-recorded modules. It's built around you: your gear, your genre, your goals and your actual sessions.
Do I need expensive gear?
No. We start with what you already have, and I'll tell you what's worth buying and what isn't. A lot of great records came out of small rooms.
Which DAW do I need?
Whatever you already use. We work inside your setup, not mine.
I'm still pretty new. Is this for me?
If you're committed, yes. Your roadmap starts wherever you are right now. The application helps me understand your level before we talk.
Will you work on my actual tracks?
Yes. That's the whole point. Feedback is on your real sessions and mixes, not generic examples.
Where do sessions happen?
Online over video call, so you can be anywhere.
How often do we meet?
Regular live sessions, set around your roadmap and your schedule. We agree on the rhythm together on the call.
What happens between sessions?
You keep working and send me your sessions and mixes. I send back reviews and voice notes, so the momentum doesn't stop between calls.
